DEXTER -- Funeral service for Pearl Long of Dexter will be held at 4 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Floyd Long, a nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m.
Long, 83, died Monday, June 5, 1995, at Dexter Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 13, 1911, in Waynesboro, Tenn., daughter of J.W. and Mattie Odle Kilburn. She and Otto Long were married March 27, 1924, in Waynesboro. He died Sept. 13, 1971.
Long lived in East Prairie most of her life, moving to Dexter in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, John Long of Bloomfield, Billy Long of Belton, Texas; three daughters, Katheryn Zimmerman of Alton, Ill., Josephine Odle of Dexter, Shirley Seabaugh of Fulton; a brother, Frank Kilburn of Waynesboro; four sisters, Lola Long of Waynesboro, Margie Berry of Florence, Ala., Iva Robertson of Iron City, Tenn., Lucille Mattox of Toledo, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
