SIKESTON, Mo. -- Pearl Lewis, 85, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born May 27, 1916, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of John W. and Verna Sanders Clifft. She and Howard Sanders were married in 1936. He died in 1963. She and Raymond Lewis were married Nov. 27, 1971. He died March 13, 1999.
Lewis was a graduate of East Prairie High School. She had worked for city attorney John Fletcher, and was assistant cashier at First Bank of East Prairie a number of years.
She was secretary and treasurer at the Church of God in East Prairie eight years. She moved to Sikeston 25 years ago, and attended Tanner Street Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherma Humble of Booneville, Ark.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a half brother; seven half sisters; and a stepbrother.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Carl Addison officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
