CHAFFEE - Pearl Ina Carter, 88, of 312 Gray, Chaffee, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1993, at the Swain County Hospital in Bryson, N.C.
She was born in Zalma, on Aug. 24, 1904, to King Anderson and Mary Etta Abernathy Gobble.
On Oct. 14, 1921, she married Walter L. Carter, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1976. One daughter, three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Mavis Huey of Whittier, N.C.; three sisters, Opal Hendrix of Advance, and Thelma Hendrix and Beatrice Dennison, both of Chaffee. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Carter was a housewife, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Chaffee.
Friends may call after 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. R.L. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery in Lutesville.
