SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Pearl O. Burris, 81, of Springfield and formerly of Alto Pass died Friday, June 11, 1999, at St. John's North Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 27, 1917, at Jackson County, son of Marion and Minnie Thompson Burris. He and Pauline Childers were married in 1940 at Jackson. She died in 1979.
He was a retired employee of the GM & O Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way. He was also a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son, Michael Burris of Fairview Heights; two daughters, Janet Tunnel of Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Treat of Springfield; and two granddaughters.
Burris was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home at Alto Pass.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clifford Heil officiating. Burial will be at the Alto Pass Cemetery.
