JACKSON -- Pauline Tackett Kielhafner, 79, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1991 at the family home.

She was born Aug. 15, 1911 in Ellington, the daughter of Thomas and Alice Mann Johnson.

She worked as a seamstress for Thorngate Limited of Chaffee, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Chaffee for over 40 years. She moved to Jackson in 1982 and joined the Emmanuel United Church of Christ there.

She was also a member of the Thursday Literary Club, the Jackson Homemakers Club, the Lydia Kies Circle, the Emmanuel Women's Fellowship, the Emmanuel Tuesday Quilters, and the Tuesday Bible Study.

She was a past worthy matron of the Chaffee Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Jackson Eastern Star.

She married John Tackett on Jan. 24, 1932. He preceded her in death March 27, 1967.

She then married Joseph Kielhafner on Aug. 14, 1971. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1977.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Dooley, Jackson, Sue Gloth, Chaffee Route 2; two stepsons, Donald Kielhafner, Jackson, John Kielhafner, Chaffee Route 2; two stepdaughters, Jo Ann Kirchdoerfer, Chaffee, Rita Kielhafner, Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dr. Ottis Johnson, Anna, Ill., Ray Johnson, Ellington; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Samuel E. Rothemeyer, pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
