Anna Pauline Strom passed away Jan. 16, 2002, at age 97. She was born Nov. 18, 1904, in Advance, Mo., the daughter of Emil and Anna Drusch and moved with her family to Cape Girardeau in 1907. Pauline attended Lorimier School, Broadway School and Central High School prior to graduating from Southeast State Teachers College. After teaching in the Mehlville School system, she and Elmer Strom were married Dec. 26, 1930, in her parents' home in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death March 13, 1977...

Pauline is survived by her two children and their spouses: Stephen and Patricia Strom of Cape Girardeau, and Anna Kate and John Squires, Springfield, Mo.; her five grandchildren and their families: David and Caroline Strom and their children, Sarah, Matthew and Stuart, Sikeston, Mo.; Susan and Peter Skilton and their children, Paige and Eric, Charlotte, N.C.; Chris and Sue Squires and their children, Michael and Tom, Sedalia, Mo.; Bill and Kelly Squires and their children, Megan and Ryan, Springfield, Mo.; Katherine and Craig Munson and their children, Stephanie, Tim and Drew, Wichita, Kan.

"Druschie" was a member of the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary and the Association, Westminster Presbyterian Church and a charter member of Chapter FY of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She enjoyed volunteering and worked with the Auxiliary Flea Market, Meals on Wheels and Teen Challenge for many years.

Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, Mt. Auburn, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Douglas Scott officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to Chateau Girardeau Foundation, Westminster Presbyterian Church, or Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.
