M. Pauline "Polly" Davis, 74, of Jackson passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 20, 2016, at her home. She gained her angel wings while being surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 28, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John Henry and Lula Ruth Stovall Finney. She leaves behind the love of her life, Henry Davis, to whom she had been married 55 years.
Polly was a charter member of Trinity Grace Chapel in Jackson, where she was active in the church and the youth ministry. She was a loving person who led a beautiful, Christian life that continually will influence the lives of all who knew her.
Polly will be greatly missed, although her memory forever will be cherished in the lives of her husband, Henry Davis of Jackson; her children, Scott (Lesa) Davis of Salem, Missouri, Marilyn Wages of Jackson, Samuel (Stephanie) Davis of Paducah, Kentucky, and Michael Davis of Potosi, Missouri; her grandchildren, Justin (Jamie) Wages, Bradley (Gillian) Davis, Chris (Eryn) Davis, Jessica Wages, Tyler (Elizabeth) Davis, Trenton (Amanda) Davis, Jared Wages, Keshia (Scott) Davis Hitchings, Bethany (Garrett) Davis Compton, Nicole (Randy) Bryson Rhodes; 10 great-grandchildren, Julianna, Tayton, Johnathon, Tristan, Logan, Scarlett, Raegan, Joshua, Parker and Boston; a sister, Cynthia Mooney of Dix, Illinois; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Mark Finney.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Bradley Davis officiating.
Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
The family suggests memorials be made to the family, c/o Henry Davis.
