JACKSON -- Paula Esther McCray, 83, of Jackson died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Louis Emil Theodore and Ella Alvina Haertling Graden. She and Paul W. McCray were married June 30, 1934. He died Sept. 15, 1994.
McCray had been a cafeteria worker with Jackson R-2 Schools. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, its Lydia Kies Circle and Pastor's Bible Study Group.
Survivors include a brother, Victor Graden of Bettendorf, Iowa; seven sisters, Edna Steimle, Ruby Doughty and Stella Blank of Cape Girardeau, Esther Turner of Jackson, Ruth Daume of Perryville, Helen Strack of San Diego, Calif., Marguerite Stone of Springfield; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Church, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery west of Cape Girardeau.
