Paula Diana Hosler, 56, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her family. Paula was born March 10, 1948, in St. Louis, daughter of Albert Senciper and Beryl Stout. She and Mark Hosler were married July 5, 1969. They were married 20 years and had two children. Paula Diana Hosler, 56, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Paula was born March 10, 1948, in St. Louis, daughter of Albert Senciper and Beryl Stout. She and Mark Hosler were married July 5, 1969. They were married 20 years and had two children. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Although she lost both her parents as a child and endured many hardships, Paula never lost her faith and commitment to her family, friends and community. She was selfless and generous throughout her life.

While she lived in Cape Girardeau she donated her time and talents to numerous charities, including baking bread for Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary, sewing costumes for community theater and using her fluency in Spanish to provide assistance to immigrants in her church.

She is survived by a daughter, Nicole Volkert, husband Matthew, and baby granddaughter Sylvia Volkert; a son, Matthew Hosler and wife Stephanie, all of Columbia; her very close friend, Mark Hosler of Cape Girardeau; five siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.

The service will be at 11:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.
