Paul Franklin Tripp, 90, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 16, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, one of 13 children to Willis M. and Rena Atchison Tripp. He and Marilisbeth "Elizabeth" Smith were married in San Mateo, Calif. She passed away in June 1988.
Paul joined the United States Coast Guard in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945.
He worked several years in Guam after his military career, and more than 20 years at Greyhound Bus Lines in San Mateo. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in San Mateo.
Loving survivors include four siblings, Dorothy, Jewell, Jerry and Webster "Web"; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce P. Tripp; four brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to McLain Chapel Cemetery.
