CHARLESTON -- Paul Harness Stricker, 76, Charleston Route 2, died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 20, 1919, in Scott County, son of Joseph Bernard and Hannah Harness Stricker. He and Mary Ellen Halter were married June 10, 1942.
Stricker was a retired farmer and landowner, and served on the Scott County Levee Board from 1971-74.
He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and its choir and served as a eucharistic minister, and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council 3282. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joseph Stricker of Belleville, Ill., Marion Stricker, Charleston Route 2; two daughters, JoAnn Padgett of Ellsinore, Barbara Hague of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Richard Lause officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
