Paul William Seyer, 68, of Jackson died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at home. He was born Aug. 31, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Lawrence and Dorothy Schaefer Seyer. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1972. Years later, he graduated from Brown's Business College in Cape Girardeau. Paul Seyer

Paul William Seyer, 68, of Jackson died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at home.

He was born Aug. 31, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Lawrence and Dorothy Schaefer Seyer.

He graduated from Jackson High School in 1972. Years later, he graduated from Brown's Business College in Cape Girardeau. He worked for the Jackson shoe factory, Cape Sand Co., Rubbermaid and Southeast Hospital until he became disabled.

Paul was a caring, good-hearted person. He was always smiling and enjoyed watching old television and game shows.

Survivors include nine brothers, Larry (Ellen) of Cape Girardeau, Tom of Jackson, Dave of Jackson, Gerald (Lori) of Benton, Missouri, Rich (Debbie) of Jackson, Mike (Cindy) of Jackson, Gary (Nancy) of Jackson, John of Cape Girardeau and Bill (Bev) of Jackson; three sisters, Mary Vomund of Cape Girardeau, Kathy Mayfield of Benton and Pat (Mike) Reed of Jackson; 23 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and -nephews; five great-great-niece and -nephews; aunt, Rosemary Robert; several cousins; and a friend, Richard Mayfield.

Paul was preceded in death by both parents, Lawrence and Dorothy; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Jane; paternal grandparents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

A private burial service for immediate family will be held.

A celebration of life ceremony will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church basement in Jackson.

Liley Funeral Homes in Marble Hill, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
