Paul Emil Pruitt, 88, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 28, 1918, in Whitewater, the son of Emil C. and Katie (Pittman) Pruitt. He and Alice "Q Belle" McDaniel were married on Dec. 13, 1941, in Perryville, Mo. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1995.
Pruitt attended schools in Cape Girardeau through high school, and was drafted into the service during World War II. Pruitt served with the armed forces during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service.
Pruitt was a resident of Cape Girardeau for more than 35 years. He was a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home during the last years of his life, and the family would like to thank the dedicated staff for the excellent care he received during his stay.
He was also a member of the VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include a niece, Donna Sater of Pacific, Mo.; two nephews, Tim Pirano of Denver, Colo., and Vince Pirano of Downey, Calif., and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau with the VFW Post 3838 officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 3838 and the Missouri Honor Team.
