ORAN, Mo. -- Paul Edward Neal, 74, of Oran died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Oran, son of Benjamin Frank and Estelle Gertrude Fowler Neal. He and Jean Carter were married March 9, 1955. She died May 24, 2003.
Neal retired as an electrician with Local 1 in St. Louis. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran, member of Morley Masonic Lodge 184, member and past patron of Morley Order of Eastern Star 342 and a member and past president of the Cook Team of the SEMO Shriners Club in Sikeston, Mo.
He served with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula (John) Dohogne of Oran, Helen Gifford Favata of Oran; a brother, Fred Neal of Oran; a sister, Eileen Varble of Chaffee, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Merandia Gifford, Dawlton Gifford, Sam Dohogne and Kameron Dohogne, all of Oran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry L. Neal; and a sister, Helen Neal.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery.
