EAST PRAIRIE -- Paul Julius Ditto, 77, of East Prairie died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 5, 1918, in Pascola, son of John and Fannie Lamar Ditto. On Aug. 13, 1938, in Whiting, he married Ruth Viola Bolden.
Ditto was a retired self-employed timber contractor and a member of the Gospel Assembly Church.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Charlie Ditto of Chaffee and Gene, Donnie, Jimmy, John, Linsey and Freddie Ditto, all of East Prairie; four daughters, Goldie Thomas of East Prairie, Sharon Johnson of Xenia, Ill., and Sandra and Joyce Ditto, both of the home; a sister, Mary Givens of East Prairie; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with James Bolden and Don Totty officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
