CHARLESTON -- Funeral for Paul Hill of Charleston will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
Hill, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 7, 1907, in Charleston, son of Charles N. and Mary Scott Hill. He and Frances Leigh Howard were married March 28, 1931.
Hill had been associated with four oil companies, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Charleston Kiwanis Club, member and deacon emeritus of First Baptist Church.
He served under Gen. George Patton in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a foster son, the Rev. Joe Lewis of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Charles Hill of Sikeston; and two foster grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
