MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Paul Cecil Gilless, 86, of Matthews died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born March 22, 1914, near Blytheville, Ark., son of Henry Clay and Mary Elizabeth Knotgrass Gilless. He and Thelma Heldenbrand were married Feb. 23, 1936, in Marion, Ark.
Gilless had been a truck driver with Viking and Spector Lines. He lived in Matthews most of his life, and was a member of Matthews Missionary Baptist Church and Teamsters Union.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vera Barton of Edwardsville, Ill.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with The Revs. Rodney Dunlap and Cecil Adams officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
