Paul Edwards

Paul M. Edwards, 100, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Feb. 6, 1922, to Joshua and Flora Niswonger Edwards in Cape Girardeau. Paul married Helen Godwin on June 20, 1942, and she preceded him in death Nov. 7, 2012.

Paul worked as the manager at the Smith-Alsop Paint Store in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Downtown Merchants Association, Kiwanis Club and Jaycees.

Survivors include his son, Bruce (Shelley) Edwards of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandson, Bruce (Erin) Edwards II of St. Charles, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Emerson and Ava Edwards of St. Charles; and several other relatives and friends.

Besides his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Edwards, in 1976.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Cape County Memorial Park.
