ANNA, Ill. -- Paul E. Dillon, 86, of Anna died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1913, at Anna, son of James Buchanan and Alice Cooper Dillon.
He and Edith Lacey were married Sept. 19, 1951, in Jonesboro, Ill. She died Aug. 17, 1998.
Dillon was employed as an operator in construction. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 318 and the Anna Moose Lodge.
He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna and the American Legion.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Dillon of O'Fallon, Mo,. and Robin Dillon of Anna; a daughter, Dorothy Kirt of Anna; a brother, Cecil "Dick" Dillon of Jonesboro; a sister, Ruby Elkins of Anna; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Marion Mosley officiating. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the VFW.
