BENTON, Mo. -- Paul Jennings Duffield, 76, of Benton died Friday, March 17, 2006, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Gassaway, W.Va., son of Jennings Oscar and Alma Sears Duffield. He married Anna Belle Goad on Jan. 24, 1958, at Goulds, Fla. She preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 1986...

BENTON, Mo. -- Paul Jennings Duffield, 76, of Benton died Friday, March 17, 2006, at his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Gassaway, W.Va., son of Jennings Oscar and Alma Sears Duffield. He married Anna Belle Goad on Jan. 24, 1958, at Goulds, Fla. She preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 1986.

Paul was an engineer on the Cotton Belt Railroad before retirement. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a 32nd Degree member of Scottish Rite, a member of Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

A special friend, Millie Kight of Advance, Mo.; a son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Sara Duffield of Benton; a granddaughter, Annabelle Duffield; and a sister, Garnet James of Frametown, W.Va., survive him.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Sonny Floyd officiating.

There will be visitation at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home in Gassaway after noon Wednesday. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. in Sugar Creek Cemetery in Gassaway.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to The First Free Will Baptist Church, 2919 Kage Road, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701.
