Paul Edward Dowdy, 78, of Jackson, formerly of Wickliffe, Kentucky, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Paul was born July 18, 1940, in Wickliffe to the late Edward and Monell Brown Dowdy.
He was a magistrate for Ballard County, Kentucky; a Kentucky Colonel; and a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Paul is survived by his wife, Priscilla Rose Caywood Dowdy; two sons, Cary (Jovy) Dowdy and Luke Dowdy, both of Wickliffe; stepdaughter, Debbie (Gabe) Martinez of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Darin (Beth) Wadley and Doug (Ursulla) Wadley, both of Cape Girardeau; stepdaughter-in-law, Rhonda Wadley of Cape Girardeau; sister, Cathy (Jerry) Trainer of Wickliffe; two brothers, David (Carol) Dowdy and Galen (Ruth) Dowdy of Wickliffe; sister-in-law, Joyce Dowdy of Wickliffe; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat L. Crosby Dowdy; his parents, Edward and Monell Brown Dowdy; stepson, David Wadley; sister, Neaomi Walker; brother, Leon Dowdy; and grandchild, Austin Wadley
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Frazier and Darin Wadley officiating.
