Paul Edward Bryant, 74, of Scott City died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 11, 1934, in Palestine, Ill., son of Lawrence W. and Lena Sparks Bryant. He and Glenda Lee Milligan were married July 2, 1960.

Bryant served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the military and from Southeast Missouri State University Power Plant. He was a member of Illmo United Methodist Church in Scott City and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clayton (Sandy) Bryant of Benton, Mo., David Bryant of Cape Girardeau, Bradley (Rebecca) Bryant of Scott City; a brother, Orville Bryant of Flat Rock, Ill.; a sister, Kathy Bryant of Rockford, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at Illmo United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating.

The family requests memorials to Illmo United Methodist Church, 718 Fourth St. East, Scott City, Mo., 63780.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
