ADVANCE, Mo. -- Paul Edward Bitterman, 88, of Advance went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 6, 1929, near Greenbrier, Missouri, to Ora Oswell and Alta Ines Ladd Bitterman.
He and Frieda Rowena Miller were married Thursday, Aug. 13, 1953, at the home of the Rev. Paul Grant in Bollinger County, Missouri. She survives in Advance.
He was a member of Advance United Methodist Church.
Paul was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a corporal, serving from 1951 to 1952 as a sergeant in Korea.
Other loving survivors include one son, Randol (Patricia) Bitterman of Advance; one grandson, Derek (Jennifer) Massey of Benton, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Ben Massey; and a host of other family members too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Inatha Geraldine Mansker; and an infant brother.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Rev. Jerry Willer will officiate. Full military honors will be held.
