Patty Mauldin, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at her home, with her daughters by her side. She was born in 1942 in St Louis. She graduated from Joplin High School and Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in education. After graduation, she married Bill and was with him until his death in 2006. In 2012, she moved from Springfield, Missouri, to Cape Girardeau to be near her daughters...

Patty Mauldin, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at her home, with her daughters by her side.

She was born in 1942 in St Louis.

She graduated from Joplin High School and Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in education. After graduation, she married Bill and was with him until his death in 2006. In 2012, she moved from Springfield, Missouri, to Cape Girardeau to be near her daughters.

She was a lifelong member of Chapel for Peace in Springfield. Patty was an active member of PEO Chapter LY, Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed tai chi, spending time with her family and traveling. She was an avid St Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Randy) Begley and Janet Johnson of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Kristen (Ryan) Watts, Nicholas Johnson, Ryan Begley, Emily Johnson and Liz (Jeff) Young; her brother, Fred; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill of 42 years; parents; her brother, Jim; and her longtime companion Ed White.

At Patty's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead the family invites you to please privately celebrate Patty's memory in your own way. The family knows she will be with us in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this time. She will be missed for her quick spirited comments, her generosity and the big way she loved her family and friends.
