CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Patrick Scheffer, 54, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, in Belleville, Ill.
He was born Sept. 11, 1951, at Charleston, Mo., son of Lawrence Edward and Adella Marie Heisserer Scheffer.
Patrick was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and St. Ambrose Men's Club. He was an avid card player and was the family informer.
Survivors include four brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Margaret Scheffer of Hermann, Mo., Michael and Donna Scheffer of Cabot, Ark., Martin and Sue Scheffer of Randles, Joe and Alanna Scheffer of Cabot; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Beatrice and Stuart Mashek of Scott City, Carolyn and Glen Crites of Chaffee, Theresa and Danny Simpher of New Hamburg, Mo.; 23 nieces and nephews; and 32 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Paul and Marion Scheffer; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Scheffer; and a nephew, Richard Mashek.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Texas Bend Cemetery near Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2811 Wintergreen Drive, No. C, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63701.
