CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Patricia Lois Whistler, 78, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at her home.
She was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Chester, Illinois, to the late Louis and Anna Marie Beuckman Blechle.
Patricia spent 35 years working as a graphic artist with North Scott Publishing in Chaffee. She was very active in her faith and was a member of Daughters of St. Ambrose. She attended perpetual adoration at Saint Francis Medical Center weekly and could often be found sitting with people who were sick.
Patricia enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, watching TV with her family, and spoiling her two cats, P.J. and Stewie. She had a laugh that was contagious and a sense of humor that could brighten any day.
Known as Grandma Pat, GiGi, Patty and Mom Pat, Patricia loved being surrounded by her family, friends and small-town community.
Patricia is survived by four daughters, Angela (Don) Schaefer of Scott City, Nanette (Charlie) Charleston of St. Peters, Missouri, Annette Whistler of Chaffee and Michelle (Matt) Holder of Scott City; son, James (Lori) Whistler of Chaffee; sister, Evelyn Wittenborn of Chester; 12 grandchildren, Samantha (Nate) Roth, Mallory Siebert, Sadie (Ryan) Siebert, Shelby (Jordan) Wilburn, Billi, Andee and Graham Charleston, Lauren, Tyler and Zac Whistler, Luke and Lane Holder; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Heitkamp and Sterling Roth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Apart from her parents, Patricia was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Meyer and Eleanor "Tootie" Gardiner, and three brothers-in-law, Charlie Wittenborn, Gene Meyer and Carl Gardiner.
Visitation, starting with the rosary, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date, with the Rev. Joe Kelly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ambrose Parish and Grade School.
