PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Patricia M. Huber, 77, of Perryville, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
She was born May 18, 1936, in Perry County, Mo.
Pat graduated from St. Vincent High School in Perryville, class of 1954. She entered a career in nursing.
She was a registered nurse, holding a master's degree in nursing. She taught nursing at several universities throughout the country. She recently celebrated 50 years in nursing.
During her nursing career, she received many recognitions, including one for her work with the lepers in Carville, La. She retired from teaching nursing at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where she served as a department head. After moving back to Perryville, she also retired from Perry Oaks Nursing Home, where she had served as the director of nursing.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Mo.; AMVETS Auxiliary; VFW Auxiliary; and Perryville Elks Lodge No. 2701.
Survivors include a brother, Larry Huber of Perryville; a sister, June Lueckel of Perryville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale Huber.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home.
There will be a Perryville Elks service at 6:30 p.m., AMVETS Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. today.
The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Parish-Sereno, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Patricia M. Huber Nursing Scholarship.
