PERRYVILLE -- Funeral for Patricia Ann "Patti" Baughman of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. The Revs. Jonathan Brown and Michael Lockhart will officiate, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Ill.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Baughman, 57, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Springfield, Ill., daughter of Alvin and Arvada Nichols Hysler. She first married Richard Smith, who preceded her in death. She married Ardell Baughman April 9, 1988.

Baughman was employed by the Department of Corrections at Menard Penitentiary in Chester.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Chester Post 487, vice president of American Legion Auxiliary District 25, and organized the craft fair at Perryville Mayfest.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kevin Smith of Springfield, Ill., Terry Smith of Monterey, Calif., Paul Smith of Athens, Ill.; three daughters, Annette Nunes of Springfield, Ill., Kendra Smith of Arlington, Va., Vickie Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve; two stepsons, Michael Baughman of Evansville, Ill., Jeffrey Baughman of Perryville; her parents of Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, Alvin Hysler Jr. and Gary Hysler of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Connie Falconer of Poulsbo, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.
