BENTON -- Raymond S. "Pat" Urhahn, 79, of Benton died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 23, 1920, at Benton, son of William J. and Amella Scherer Urhahn. He and Ida Mae Cannon were married Aug. 21, 1945, at Benton.
Urhahn operated Pat's Gas in Benton 40 years, and also farmed. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Benton Chamber of Commerce, served on the Neighbor Day Committee, and was a charter member of Oran Knights of Columbus Council. He was a lifelong resident of Benton.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Urhahn of Benton, a son, Steve Urhahn of Kelso; two sisters, Edvera Welter of Oran, Vernita Martin of Benton; grandchildren, Melanie and Norman Heuring, Sharon and Barry Urhahn and Suzanne Urhahn, all of Benton, Steve and Leigh Vosseller of Micronesia; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Urhahn of Benton, Mikayla Vosseller of Micronesia; and a special friend, Luanne Urhahn of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Benton Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Denis Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
