Pat Spurlock, 68, of Scott City died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home.

He was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to Robert and Gladys Martin Spurlock. He was married to Nancy Jenkins.

He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service and campaign medals, Army commendation medal, Sharpshooter M-14 and Marksman M-16 and two overseas bars.

He drove for many years for Midwest Waste.

Pat is survived by his wife, Nancy Spurlock; daughters, Susan Spurlock, Patricia Spurlock, Martha Martin, Mary Lowe, Barbara Sample and Michelle Duncan; son, Keith Simmons; brothers, Donald Spurlock, Tim Joice and Roy Spurlock; sisters, Donna Tremaine and Mary Woods; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Virgil Joice; daughter, Ruby Simmons; two grandchildren, Tiffany Watkins and Kylie Simmons; brother, Norman Spurlock; and two sisters, Shirley Denny and Vera Pettit.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.

A memorial service for Pat Spurlock will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Full military honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the funeral home to defray expenses.
