CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Mrs. Pansy A. Estes of Cape Girardeau Nursing Center will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Ernest Swartz will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.
Mrs. Estes, 80 years old, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1910, in Cape, daughter of Torrence and Minnie Luebbers Kinder. She first married Jake Lewis in 1934, who died in 1950. She later married Lloyd Estes in 1951, who died in 1980.
Mrs. Estes was a cook on the river for Marquette Cement Co. a number of years, and later owned and operated Cowboy's Restaurant and Tavern five years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include two stepsons, Gene Estes of Cape, Ray Estes of Anderson, Ind.; two brothers, Glenn Kinder of Cape, Norman Kinder of Sparta, Ill.; three sisters, Hazel Teichgraber of Grass Valley, Calif., Lillian Blakemore of Cleveland, Ohio, Lucille Pierce of Pine Bluff, Ark., and seven stepgrandchildren.
