CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Owen Edward "Ed" Lindsey, 80, of Charleston died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born May 1, 1923, in Arlington, Ky., son of William Elbert and Alma Mae Woodward Lindsey. He and Mary Magdalene Wilkerson were married April 16, 1946.
Lindsey had lived in Charleston since 1936. He was a salesman with Cauble and Field Grocery and Produce Wholesale Co. 40 years, retiring May 1, 2003.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, a lifetime member of IOOF Lodge and VFW Post 4294, all in Charleston, and Eagles Lodge in New Madrid, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Trudy Parker of Eagle Grove, Iowa; two sisters, Edith Lough of Bertrand, Mo., Dorothy Morris of Sikeston, Mo.; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
