Owen D. Dye, 84, of Jackson died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Monticello House in Jackson.
He was born Sept. 24, 1930, at Holcomb, Missouri, to Owen T. and Dula L. Vaughn Dye. Owen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He and Valma Jean Duffey were married Aug. 21, 1955, at Bloomfield, Missouri. She passed away Nov. 29, 1997.
Owen attended Southeast Missouri State University. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. as a supervisor for stores in the Midwest more than 28 years. He was a member of Jackson Church of Christ and American Legion Post 63 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah (Tony) Pickett of Jackson; a son, Jeffrey (Krissi) Dye of Jackson; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah) Heise, Amanda (Michael) Hill, Jacob Mattingly, Kaitlyn Dye, Madison Dye and Abby Dye; three great-grandchildren, Aislyn Heise, Wesley Hill and Sutton Hill; three brothers, Dean (Doris) Dye of Oregon, Illinois, Harlan (Sue) Dye of Camdenton, Missouri, and Mike (Alma) Dye of Mount Vernon, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Elmer Sebastian of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Curtis Ray Dye, who died June 30, 2005; a brother, Bill Dye; and a sister, Nina Sebastian.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with Edd Sterchi and Brian Mitchell officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military rites by Missouri Honors Team.
