EAST PRAIRIE -- Oval M. Hale, 70, of East Prairie, died Friday, May 17, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Como, Tenn., daughter of Thomas R. and Lucy Bailey Murphy. She and Kenneth Hale were married Aug. 2, 1941, in East Prairie.
Hale had worked at Sells Rest Home in Matthews and cared for the elderly in private homes.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, George Hale of Yardley, Pa., Danny Hale of Shawneetown; two daughters, Ruth Wilson and Lucy Hale of East Prairie; two brothers, Charles Murphy of Maplewood, Gene Murphy of Ballwin; six sisters, Zelma McNew of Cape Girardeau, Margaret Shull of East Prairie, Alma Spikes of Barnhart, Velma Simmons of Affton, Cecilia Lewis of Desloge, Erma Miller of Dittmer; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Amos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
