PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Otto J. Schlichting, 87, of Wittenberg, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at the Monticello Home in Jackson.
He was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Farrar, Mo., son of Martin and Laura Fiehler Schlichting. He and Martha Werner were married Nov. 26, 1949, in St. Louis. She died June 23, 2002.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Mo., a former member of the Golden Age Club, an Army veteran of World War II and lifetime member of American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Erlacker of Perryville, Joann Mirley of New Wells, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today with an American Legion wake at 7 p.m. and a VFW wake at 7:15 p.m. at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg, Mo., and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Paseur officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Wittenberg.
