Otto E. Schlegel, 74, of Norris City, Ill., died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at his home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Otto and Alma Helwege Schlegel. He married Velma Mae Harris.
Schlegel attended Trinity Lutheran School and was a graduate of Central High School. He retired as a plastics tooling specialist with Western Electric.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Schlegel of Texas, Dennis Schlegel of Arizona; three daughters, Cathy Zinn of Arizona, Addy Carlburg of Kansas, Linda Burnhouse of Texas; a brother, Norman Schlegel of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lorene Sander and Millie Strom of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in a military cemetery at a later date.
Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
