Funeral service for Osie Williams, 140 S. Henderson, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Greater Dimension Church of God In Christ. The Rev. William Bird will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Williams, 86, died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Tunica, Miss., son of Johnson and Mary Hilbun Williams. He and Cornilus Phifer were married Jan. 13, 1939, in Lula, Miss.
Williams worked at a lumber company in Tunica until moving to Cape Girardeau. He worked at Marquette Cement Co., retiring in 1975, and had operated a lawn business.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, James "Peto", Lee, Robert and David Williams, all of Cape Girardeau, Charles, Osie Jr. and Frank Williams, all of Sparta, Ill.; eight daughters, Hattie Baker, Cornelia "Mop" and Carolyn Williams, Susan Bird and Mary Jones, all of Cape Girardeau, Eddie Whitaker of Cairo, Ill., Viola Garner of Fairview Heights, Ill., Marilyn Williams of Rantoul, Ill.; 31 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
