DEXTER -- Oscar Warren, 78, of Dexter died June 10, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital. He was born July 4, 1916, in Newport, Ark., the son of the late Elzie and Ida Rodgers Warren. He moved to Gray Ridge in 1937 and remained there until moving to Dexter in 1975...

DEXTER -- Oscar Warren, 78, of Dexter died June 10, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 4, 1916, in Newport, Ark., the son of the late Elzie and Ida Rodgers Warren.

He moved to Gray Ridge in 1937 and remained there until moving to Dexter in 1975.

He married Elsie Harlan at Dexter on June 6, 1938. She survives of the home.

He was a retired truck driver who served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Also surviving are two nieces, Gloria Ritch of Gray Ridge and Beverly Hargrove of Napa, Calif.; two nephews, James Harland of Gray Ridge and Charles Harlan of Enfield, Ill.; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Joe Oglevie officiating. Burial will be in Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
