OSCAR E. MEYR

NEW WELLS -- Oscar E. Meyr, 78, of New Wells, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1992, at St. Charles Health Care Center in St. Charles.

He was born March 12, 1914, at New Wells, son of Gustav A. and Pauline M. Perr Meyr. He and Ruth Wachter were married Oct. 9, 1938. She died July 31, 1987.

Meyr was a self-employed carpenter, lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church here, and member of Carpenters Local in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Robert Meyr of St. Charles; a daughter, Marilyn Childers of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Gilbert Meyr of New Wells; two sisters, Rosa Doberenz and Wiona Huttegger of Jackson; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. The Rev. Rick Patzwitz will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
