Orville Wilkinson

Orville F. Wilkinson, 79, of Whitewater died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Crump, son of Larkin and Snoda Proffer Wilkinson. He and Lulu Shumpert were married April 9, 1948. She survives. Wilkinson worked 23 years in the receiving room at Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1999. Orville F. Wilkinson, 79, of Whitewater died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at his home.

He was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Crump, son of Larkin and Snoda Proffer Wilkinson. He and Lulu Shumpert were married April 9, 1948. She survives.

Wilkinson worked 23 years in the receiving room at Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Revs. Phil Berry and David Shumpert officiating. Interment will follow in the Proffer Cemetery in Crump.
