ORVILLE REITZEL

BURFORDVILLE -- Orville Reitzel, 84, of Burfordville, died Friday, April 12, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 7, 1911, near Marble Hill, son of Otto and Dora Barks Reitzel. He first married DeVern Brown Sept. 1, 1933. She died Aug. 20, 1988. He later married Doris Tanner Sept. 17, 1989.

Reitzel farmed in the Burfordville community 50 years. He was a member of Burfordville Baptist Church and was a board member of the former Burfordville School.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Reitzel of Whitewater; two daughters, Doris Peters of Burfordville, Marcella Peters of Marble HIll; three stepsons, Jerome Gaines of Glen Allen, Robert Gaines of Lugoff, S.C., Stanley Gaines of Grassy; a stepdaughter, Mary Endrafke of Rockaway Beach; a brother, Cletus Reutzel of Jackson; two sisters, Ruby Kirkpatrick and Bonnie Grindstaff of Marble Hill; six grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patrick Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
