ORVILLE A. OELSEN

Orville A. Oelsen, 72, of 1912 Perryville Road, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born May 7, 1921, at Roselle, Mo., son of ARthur and Annie Blankenship Oelsen.

He married Naomi Sago, Oct. 10, 1942, at Flat River. She died April 25, 1989.

Oelsen started his career as a meat cutter in the Lead Belt area for about 10 years.

For the next 18 years, Oelsen owned and operated an IGA store in River Mines, Mo. In 1970, he moved to Cape Girardeau to take a position as a meat cutter and manager of the deli section of the Del Farm grocery store. He retired in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Kellerman of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Thomas Oelsen of Yarbro, Ark.; six sisters, Anita Dickerson of Summerville, Ga., Ruth Barber of Yarbro, Ark., Olga Tiller of St. Louis, Florence Jones of Tallequah, Okla., Mildred Collins and Irene Neier, both of Memphis, Tenn., a half-brother, Calvin Oelsen of Jonesboro, Ark.; two half-sisters, Helen Dorris of Gosnell, Ark., Lily McKinney of Jonesboro; a step-brother, James Bradford of Illinois; and three step-sisters, Mary Hudson, Merle Sharp and Shirley Wills, all of Blytheville, Ark.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Burgard and the Rev. Steven Smith officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
