ANNA, Ill. -- Orval William Wolfe, 89, of Anna died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at the home of a daughter in Anna.
He was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Oconto Falls, Wis., son of William and Anna Lobus Wolfe. He and Ruth Margaret Alexander were married Jan. 20, 1939, in Joliet, Ill.
Wolfe retired from Olin Chemical Co. in Joliet in 1979. He was a member of American Legion Post 18 in Joliet, and a past commander of Lockport VFW in 1968 to 1969.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Thorne of Anna, Patricia Owen of Joliet; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, a sister and a great-grandson.
Private graveside service will be held Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet.
