Orval Eldridge Shew, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Southeast Missouri, son of Eldridge and Emma Mehler Shew. He and Margaret Crosno were married May 20, 1949. Shew lived in Wyatt, Mo., most of his life where he was a landowner and farmer. Orval Eldridge Shew, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Southeast Missouri, son of Eldridge and Emma Mehler Shew. He and Margaret Crosno were married May 20, 1949.

Shew lived in Wyatt, Mo., most of his life where he was a landowner and farmer. He was a member of Wyatt Methodist Church until it closed recently, then became a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, Mo.

He was an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service today at the United Methodist Church in Charleston.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Roger Jespersen officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.

McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
