EAST PRAIRIE -- Orval E. Kersey, 58, of East Prairie died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Aug. 15, 1940, at Farrenburg to Orval and Liza Mae Loomis Kersey.

He married Helen Geneva Mayabb April 23, 1964.

He lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was a member of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie.

He worked as a truck driver at Atlas Carrier.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

Survivors include his mother and wife, both of East Prairie; two sons, Orval E. Kersey Jr. and Michael R. Kersey, both of East Prairie; three daughters, Dinelle D. Enos of Sikeston, Karen M. O'Guin and Kimberly R. Kersey, both of East Prairie; a brother, Billy Kersey of East Prairie; three sisters, Dorris Cogdill, Ruth Emerson and Cindy Chaney, all of East Prairie; 10 grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.

A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is today after 5 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Mike Johnson, Burl Britt and Jim Day officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
