SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Ornice Kathleen Raines of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Raines, 81, died Wednesday, March 31, 1993, at Gunnison Health Care Center in Gunnison, Colo.

She was born Aug. 6, 1911, in Columbus, Ky., daughter of William D. and Mami Coker Moore. She and Orrin H. "Pete" Raines were married June 22, 1935, at Benton. He died May 9, 1980.

Survivors include a son, Vance Raines of Sikeston; four daughters, Peggy Goolsby of Basalt, Colo., Mary Raines and Gavin Holcomb of Crested Butte, Colo., Ora Germanaro of Anaheim, Calif.; five sisters, Iris Barnhart of Lebanon, Mo., Wilma Oliver of Memphis, Tenn., Bessie Harrison and Doris Lett of Sikeston, Martha Foster of Vanduser; a half brother, Julian Moore of Minner; a half sister, Margaret Roberts of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
