Orlie N. Grubb, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services.

He was born Jan. 11, 1916, at Essex, son of Clarence and Pearl Wallace Grubb. He first married Almeta Grubb, who died June 20, 1986. He and Rose Linebarger were married Aug. 13, 1988, at Jackson.

Grubb had worked at Erlbacher Dry Dock 15 years, and retired after 10 years at Caruthersville Shipyard. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.

Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Hubert Grubb of Benton, Harlie Grubb of Evansville, Ind., Dallas Grubb of St. Petersburg, Fla., Alvin Grubb of Senath, Donnie and Ronnie Grubb of Cape Girardeau, Randy Grubb of Chaffee; five sisters, Blanche Martin of Kennett, Linda Umfleet of Brownwood, Brenda Garner of Cape Girardeau, Lisa Schaefer of Chaffee, Teresa Kinnision of Dundee, Miss.

Also surviving is a stepson, Howard Linebarger of Magalia, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Joyce Nussbaum of Santa Fe, N.M., Dolores Gerhardt of Old Appleton, Nancy Stone of Farmington; 34 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in Senath Cemetery at Senath.
