SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Orene Louis "Buster" Finley of Sikeston will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. W.T. Metcalf will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Finley, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 1994, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 5, 1920, in East Prairie, son of Otis and Ada Davis Finley. He and Alma Lorine Francis were married Oct. 26, 1946, in St. Louis.
Finley retired as a heavy equipment operator with R.B. Potashnick Co. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter in Sikeston. Finley served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Louis Finley of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Elaine Smith of Pueblo, Colo.; his father of Miner; a brother, Ulas Finley of Norman, Okla.; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
