Orene Holland

Orene Holland, 88, of Barlow, Ky., died Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Barlow.

She was born June 12, 1925, in Marmaduke, Ark., to the late Claude O. Woods and Lela Frances Allen Woods.

She and William Albert Holland were married Oct. 13, 1942, in Malden, Mo. He preceded her in death in October 1996.

Orene volunteered at the Cape Girardeau Senior Center and graduated from cosmetology school in St. Louis.

She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Holland of Jackson; son, Ronald (Sally) Holland of Granbury, Texas; four grandchildren, Krista Holland, Doug Holland, Michael Holland and Shelley Key-Byas; and three great-grandchildren, Sherman Holland, Faith and Kyndall Byas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William A. Holland; five brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Burial will follow at Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
