Ora Watkins

ORAN, Mo. -- Ora Watkins, daughter of the late Claude and Bernice Puckett Pearson, was born Feb. 9, 1946, in Bell City, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at the New Madrid Living Center in New Madrid, Missouri, at the age of 74.

Ora was a former employee at Thorngate Manufacturing and a caregiver for her daughter for many years.

She was united in marriage to Jack Watkins in 1966. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1980.

Survivors include a son, James (Robin) Watkins of Oran; three daughters, Daphne Medley (Marlin O'Neal) of Morley, Missouri, and Susan Kern and Chundi Rose, both of Oran; two sisters, Marilyn Gilliland of Morley and Brenda Pearson of Sikeston, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Pearson, and a sister, Evelyn Hill.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
